Personal Branding

For my personal branding assignment I explored a wide range of ideas, from bold serif monograms to circular badge concepts and handwritten script variations. At this stage, I wasn’t focused on perfection, I was focused on discovering energy. Some concepts leaned structured and editorial, while others felt softer and more expressive. I experimented with balance, hierarchy, and how my initials could stand alone as a recognizable mark. Sketching allowed me to explore movement, weight, and personality without the digital constraints. This early phase helped me clarify what felt authentic: something grounded, creative, and confident, but still warm and approachable.

The first developed logo evolved into a softened monogram paired with a handwritten “kh designs” wordmark. I rounded the edges of the square to bring harmony between structure and fluidity, allowing the monogram to feel grounded but not rigid. The script typography introduces warmth and personality. The supporting color palette (Mist, Slate, Olive, and Amber) reinforces a Montana inspired, natural aesthetic that feels calm, rooted, and timeless. This logo represents the balance I aim to embody in my work: thoughtful structure combined with artistic expression. It communicates that I am both professional and approachable, confident yet creative.

The second developed logo direction reflects my connection to landscape and the layered experiences that shape my creative work. The circular mark symbolizes balance and continuity, while the earthy tones of Glacial Mist, River Basin, Wild Sage, and Forest Sage draw from the natural environments that inspire me daily. The combination of organic shapes and clean typography mirrors my approach to design; rooted yet refined, thoughtful yet expressive. This concept represents both where I come from and how I plan to approach building meaningful brands.

Developed Logo #3 | kh designs
The third developed logo brings together a circular monogram with a flowing line. The small accent dots are intentionally inspired by the distinctive markings of a native Westslope Cutthroat Trout, a subtle nod to my Montana roots and my life as a fly fishing guide. The color palette echoes this influence, incorporating Wild Sage, Cheeky Red, Golden Belly, and Halo Brown to reflect the natural tones found in a Westslope Cutthroat Trout. This direction blends structure with story, representing both my creative work and the environments that shape who I am. It is intended to communicate authenticity, individuality, and a connection to place.
